Nigerian Army bids farewell to discharged Master Warrant Officers in Zaria

The event was attended by the Commandant of Depot Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Usman Ahmad, as well as principal staff officers and heads of departments, according to Chikadibia Anele, the depot’s Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations. Addressing the departing personnel, Ahmad urged them to maintain peaceful relationships with the communities where they choose to settle.
He also encouraged them to remain good ambassadors of the Nigerian Army after leaving active service. The commandant further advised the discharged officers to continue contributing positively to the protection of civilians. He said they should balance that commitment with hobbies and extracurricular activities to help maintain their fitness after service.
Ahmad spoke on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, and thanked the Master Warrant Officers for their service to the country. He also wished them success in their future endeavours. Speaking for the discharged personnel, the institution’s outgoing Regimental Sergeant Major, Master Warrant Officer Joshua Agwaru, thanked the commandant for his mentorship and guidance.
Agwaru said the former personnel would remain available to serve in other capacities when needed. The ceremony included advice from officers, the presentation of souvenirs and gift items by the commandant, and group photographs.
