Odumodublvck says men should love partners sacrificially

Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, known as Odumodublvck, said during a podcast appearance that men should love their wives sacrificially and criticised the view that he is misogynistic. He linked his position to Christian teaching, his upbringing and the importance he places on women in relationships.
Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has said men should love their wives sacrificially, arguing that a man who says he would not die for his partner is a “fool”. The rapper made the comments during an episode of the In Motion Podcast on YouTube, shared on Friday. He was also discussing his controversial feud with fellow rapper Blaqbonez.
Odumodublvck explained his view through his Christian faith. He referred to the biblical teaching that husbands should love their wives as Christ loved the church, adding that Christ died for the church. He said he expected to die before his wife because she is younger, and said she would then care for their children and continue what he had started.
He also said his wife would distribute his possessions to their children so that there would be no disagreement. The rapper connected his attitude towards women and money to his upbringing. He described his mother as generous and said that when he received money, he often sent it to other people rather than keeping it.
He added that his girlfriend held his money for him. Using chess as an analogy, Odumodublvck said the queen was the strongest piece on the board and that losing her exposed the king. He used the comparison to argue that women should be valued and treated according to what he described as their proper importance.
He also rejected the description of him as a misogynist, calling it unfair and saying it bothered him. He questioned whether someone who was willing to die for his partner could reasonably be described in that way.
