Osun APC constituency leaders endorse Tinubu reforms and 2027 candidates

The All Progressives Congress leadership in Ijesa South Federal Constituency of Osun State has endorsed President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms and urged voters to support the party’s candidates in the 2027 general elections. The position was contained in a statement issued in Osogbo after a party meeting. It was signed by Kunle Odeyemi and Femi Kujembola on behalf of the constituency leadership.

The group reaffirmed its support for Senator Francis Fadahunsi, who represents Osun East, and Olusanya Omirin, the member representing Ijesa South Federal Constituency. It also backed Timothy Owoeye for Ilesa East State Constituency, Babatunde Komolafe for Atakumosa East and West, and Abayomi Ojo for Ilesa West. The APC leaders acknowledged that Nigerians were facing difficulties linked to what they described as tough economic decisions by the Tinubu administration.

However, they said the hardship would eventually be overcome and reaffirmed confidence in the president, Vice-President Kashim Shettima and the administration’s reforms. The statement called for broad electoral support for the party and appealed for peace, unity and harmony. It said continued support for the APC in Ijesaland reflected the area’s identification with progressive politics.

The constituency leadership also pledged to continue serving the electorate with respect for their dignity. Its endorsement follows an earlier dispute involving calls for the recall of Fadahunsi. The party’s contact and mobilisation committee had previously rejected that recall campaign, describing those behind it as anti-APC elements.

Akinyele Akintola, the committee’s director, alleged that Fadahunsi’s political opponents were responsible for a protest in Ilesa and warned against actions that could create tension across the district.
