Pandora opens $150 million Vietnam factory to diversify production

Danish jewellery maker Pandora has opened a $150 million plant in Ho Chi Minh City, its first production site outside Thailand. The facility is expected to lift the company’s manufacturing capacity by about half and employ 7,000 people at full operation, while supporting a shift towards platinum-plated jewellery.
Danish jewellery maker Pandora has opened a $150 million factory in Ho Chi Minh City as it seeks to diversify manufacturing and strengthen its supply chain. The facility is Pandora’s fourth worldwide and its first production site outside Thailand, where the company operates three factories. Pandora said the plant would increase its overall manufacturing capacity by about 50 per cent and employ 7,000 workers when fully operational.
The company described the site as the world’s largest fine jewellery crafting facility. It is capable of producing up to 60 million pieces a year. Pandora sold 112 million pieces of jewellery in 2025 and previously manufactured all its products in Thailand.
Chief executive Berta de Pablos-Barbier said Vietnam would initially account for about 15 per cent of global capacity and could reach one-third when the plant is fully operational in 2030. She said the facility was intended as a long-term investment amid trade-related uncertainty. Pandora chose Vietnam because of its skilled workforce, jewellery-making tradition, infrastructure and business environment, according to the company.
The plant will supply its global business rather than specific export markets. The factory will also support increased production of platinum-plated jewellery as Pandora reduces its reliance on silver. It has LEED Gold certification, will use renewable electricity and will use recycled silver and gold.
Pandora is exploring on-site solar generation and a possible solar-farm partnership.
