Malayalam writer R. Rajasree has been selected for the 50th Vayalar Ramavarma Memorial Literary Award for her novel Athreyakam. The award includes ₹1 lakh and a sculpture by Kanayi Kunhiraman, and will be presented at a Thiruvananthapuram ceremony on October 27.

It is instituted by the Vayalar Ramavarma Trust and carries a cash prize of ₹1 lakh along with a sculpture designed by artist Kanayi Kunhiraman. A judging committee comprising writers O.V. Usha and Subhash Chandran and literary critic V.
