The reconstructed Pydithalli Ammavaru temple in Andhra Pradesh’s Vizianagaram is being readied for the annual Sirimanotsavam on October 27. The Endowments Department has spent about ₹1.8 crore on the rebuilding, while additional land has been acquired to improve queues and facilities for the expected crowds.

The rebuilt Pydithalli Ammavaru temple in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh, is being prepared for the annual Sirimanotsavam festival on October 27. More than two lakh devotees are expected to visit the temple over the two main festival days, according to the supplied material. The Tholellu festival will be held on October 26, a day before Sirimanotsavam.

The Endowments Department spent about ₹1.8 crore to reconstruct the temple, which was originally built in 1757. The new premises include wider queue lines and more space around the shrine. Devotees previously faced difficulties because of the narrow space at the old temple.

Endowments Assistant Commissioner K. Sireesha said the rebuilt premises and expanded queues were intended to allow people to have darshan more peacefully, including on festival days. The department has also acquired 218 square yards of private land next to the temple.

The additional area is intended to support facilities for visitors and improve the movement of devotees during the celebrations. Sireesha said a nearby private building would be provided with another piece of land, allowing the temple authorities to establish prasadam counters. She added that devotees would be able to remain on the premises after darshan and that work on the adjacent area would soon be completed.

Special prayers were offered at the Pandiri Rata on the temple premises on Thursday, marking the beginning of the Sirimanotsavam festivities. The reconstruction and land acquisition are intended to address crowd-management and visitor-facility needs before the festival. The source material does not provide details of traffic arrangements, security plans or other administrative measures for the expected attendance.
