Seven arrested over alleged murder of 24-year-old in Hyderabad

Mangalhat police in Hyderabad have arrested seven people, including two women, over the alleged murder of 24-year-old Sainath Singh, officials said. Police allege that Singh was assaulted and strangled after being called to a house in Raheempura on September 28. The alleged motive was a dispute over his relationship with Anisha Singh, 25, one of the accused.

According to investigators, Anisha had been in a relationship with Sainath for three to four years. Police said her husband and other family members had previously warned him to stop contacting her, but alleged that he continued to reach her through social media and pressured her to meet. Investigators allege that Anisha then conspired with the other suspects.

The group allegedly called Sainath to her mother’s house, where he was assaulted and strangled. The case was registered after a complaint by Sainath’s sister, Sony Singh, 26, of Shivlalnagar in Dhoolpet. Police said CCTV footage examined during the investigation helped them identify the suspects, who were apprehended on September 30.

The arrested people were identified as Anisha Singh, Makhan Badal Singh, Akash Singh, Abhishek, Poojari Lakhan Singh, Akshay Singh and Degan Nanditha, also known as Nandini. Police seized six mobile phones and two two-wheelers allegedly connected with the case. Police said some of the accused had previous cases.

Anisha had previously been involved in an NDPS Act case, while Badal Singh and Lakhan Singh had earlier cases recorded against them. All seven were being produced before a court, and further investigation was under way.
