The Kerala High Court had directed Ms. Keerthana to sign the station register as part of the conditions imposed when it granted her bail in the drug-related case. Police said her partner, identified as Vineesh, was waiting near the station.
According to the police, an argument broke out between the two before Mr. Vineesh allegedly attacked Ms. Keerthana with a weapon he was carrying.
