Yarada proposed as Visakhapatnam IT and tourism hub

TDP State president Palla Srinivasa Rao has asked officials to assess the development of nearly 800 acres at Yarada for IT, technology-driven industries and tourism. He said better connectivity, including a proposed bridge, could support investment and employment in the area.
Andhra Pradesh Telugu Desam Party president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao has proposed developing Yarada in Visakhapatnam as a hub for information technology, industry and tourism. Srinivasa Rao and District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore inspected nearly 800 acres at Yarada on Saturday with revenue officials.
They reviewed the land’s extent and status, existing infrastructure and the development potential of the hill region. The MLA directed officials to examine the feasibility of attracting IT companies, Global Capability Centres, startups and other knowledge- and technology-driven enterprises. He said expansion of the IT sector could create employment and livelihood opportunities for local young people.
Srinivasa Rao also discussed a proposed bridge connecting Sagaradurga Temple at Yarada, across the canal, with Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in One Town. He said the bridge could allow people to travel from Yarada to the main city within 15 to 20 minutes. According to the MLA, improved transport would benefit IT professionals and residents while encouraging IT and industrial development.
He also linked better connectivity to beach and spiritual tourism in the region. Srinivasa Rao said the coalition government led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was working to position Andhra Pradesh as an investment-, industry- and technology-friendly destination.
He referred to IT Minister Nara Lokesh’s efforts to attract investment in IT, electronics and technology. Officials were instructed to prepare proposals after a comprehensive assessment of infrastructure, connectivity and other requirements.
