AAP reports 68% fall in contributions for 2025-26

The Aam Aadmi Party reported ₹12.10 crore in contributions for 2025-26, a 68% decline from the ₹38.10 crore it disclosed for the previous financial year. The figures are contained in the party’s contribution report submitted to the Election Commission of India. Prudent Electoral Trust and Trident Limited each contributed ₹5 crore, together accounting for nearly 83% of the total.
Trident was founded by Rajinder Gupta, who was elected to the Rajya Sabha on an AAP ticket in October 2025. The company’s cheque was dated January 9, 2026, when Gupta was associated with the party. He joined the BJP in April this year.
The remaining contributions amounted to about ₹2.10 crore. The report contained 1,202 numbered entries. AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal was listed against three contributions of ₹10,000 each.
Former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi made 12 payments of ₹3,500, totalling ₹42,000. Punjab AAP president Aman Arora was listed against 12 payments of ₹10,000, totalling ₹1.20 lakh. Ashutosh Ranka, now a co-convener of the Cockroach Janta Party and formerly an AAP spokesperson, donated ₹21,100 before taking up his current role.
The latest filing covers the first full financial year after AAP lost power in Delhi in February 2025. The party continues to govern Punjab, where Trident is based. The contribution report does not represent the party’s complete annual income, which is disclosed separately in audited accounts.
Parties are required to identify donors whose contributions exceed ₹20,000 in a financial year.
