Oyo APC candidate targets sweeping 2027 election victory

All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, says the party is strategically positioned to win all major elective positions in the state at the 2027 general elections. Alli spoke on Monday in Ibadan during the inauguration of local government campaign managers for the BSA/Adedeji campaign team. He urged party leaders and supporters to intensify mobilisation across local government areas, wards and communities.

The senator, who represents Oyo South in the National Assembly, said the party’s objective included victory in the presidential, National Assembly, governorship and House of Assembly elections. He said the campaign managers would be responsible for turning existing party structures into effective grassroots organisation. “We are strategically positioned to win,” Alli said, while stressing that victory would require engagement with voters and stronger structures at community level.

He also described the appointments as a call to service and asked the managers to ensure that the APC’s message and programmes reached residents. Alli called for unity and teamwork among party members, saying the contest was not about individuals but about building a stronger APC in Oyo. Campaign Director-General Yemi Aderibigbe said the inauguration marked another step in preparations for the elections.

The report said Alli approved further campaign appointments in July 2026, including Sola Ogunbode as deputy director-general and three assistant director-generals representing the state’s senatorial districts.
