Cyberabad police said their SHE Teams detained 37 people during decoy operations targeting alleged indecent behaviour, eve-teasing and harassment of women in public places. The operations were conducted across the Commissionerate between September 26 and October 2. According to the Women and Child Safety Wing, the teams carried out 116 decoy operations, registered 56 petty cases and received 15 complaints from women through different reporting channels.
During the same period, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit rescued three victims and apprehended two accused in a case registered under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. The source material did not provide further details about that case. Family Counselling Centres and CDEW Centres also intervened in marital disputes during the week.
Police said efforts resulted in the reunion of 33 families. The AHTU and SHE Teams conducted awareness sessions at different locations, reaching around 3,407 people. The programmes covered human trafficking, child trafficking, eve-teasing, social-media harassment, child marriage, child rights, child labour, stalking, begging, cyberbullying and cyber fraud.
Participants were also informed about emergency and reporting helplines. The activities combined enforcement with public education on safety and the channels available for seeking help. In a separate programme on September 30, the SHE Teams and the Society for Cyberabad Security Council held a women’s awareness and self-defence bootcamp at New Relic in Raheja Mindspace.
More than 40 employees attended sessions on legal rights, reporting mechanisms, emergency response and practical self-defence techniques.
