Eguavoen names Super Falcons squad for Comoros Olympic qualifiers

The announcement was made on Tuesday through the team’s account on X. The squad includes captain Rasheedat Ajibade, forward Asisat Oshoala and goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie.
Young forward Janet Akekoromowei was also selected after attracting attention with her recent performances and move to Benfica. Defender Ashleigh Plumptre returns after missing the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations because of injury. Other goalkeepers named are Comfort Erhabor and Christiana Uzoma.
The defenders include Michelle Alozie, Shukurat Oladipo, Farida Abdulwahab, Glory Ogbonna, Oluwatosin Demehin, Glory Edet, Timininu Adeshina and Plumptre. The midfield group comprises Christy Ucheibe, Joy Igokwe, Favour Nwocha, Fatimoh Solaty, Suliat Abideen, Toni Payne and Jennifer Echegini. The forwards include Flourish Sabastine, Shakirat Moshood, Gift Monday, Joy Omewa, Blessing Nkor, Oluwakemi Adegbuyi, Uchenna Kanu and Akekoromowei.
Players have been instructed to report to the AM2PM Hotel in Ijebu-Ode on Saturday, October 3. The first leg will take place on Friday, October 9, with the return scheduled for Tuesday, October 13. Both fixtures will be played at Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne-Remo.
