Oyo APC chair links improved power supply to Tinubu administration

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Moses Adeyemo, has attributed recent improvements in electricity supply to the commitment of President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Adeyemo spoke while receiving the Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, at the APC secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan South-West Local Government Area. Tegbe was visiting the party office to thank party leaders and supporters following his appointment.

Adeyemo said the administration was working to revive critical sectors of the economy. He expressed confidence that Tegbe would meet Nigerians’ expectations in the power sector. Tegbe assumed office in July 2026 after the resignation of Bayo Adelabu, who obtained an Expression of Interest Form to pursue a governorship bid in Oyo ahead of the 2027 election.

The minister said the President was determined to resolve the country’s power challenges and that projects were under way across Nigeria. He said electricity supply had improved considerably in recent weeks, while acknowledging that the government had not yet reached its target. Tegbe said the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway would receive a full installation of solar-powered street lights in a few weeks.

He also announced plans for mini solar grids at six locations in Oyo State, and said a project in Ogbomoso was nearing completion after contractors’ difficulties were addressed. He said projects in Saki, aimed at addressing longstanding problems in the Oke-Ogun and Ibarapa areas, were also receiving attention. Tegbe additionally said he would work to secure Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 and had begun discussions with aggrieved gubernatorial aspirants to resolve internal party disagreements.
