Four arrested after Bengaluru college student dies in stabbing

Police have arrested four people, including three juveniles, in connection with the death of 19-year-old BCom student Yogesh in Bengaluru’s Nagarabhavi area. Investigators say a dispute involving a female student preceded the clash. The alleged prime accused, identified as Bhuvan, remains at large and is being sought.
Police in Bengaluru have arrested four people, including three juveniles, in connection with the death of 19-year-old BCom student Yogesh in Nagarabhavi. Yogesh died on September 30 after an alleged confrontation near a gym on the road behind his private college on Muddayanapalya Road. Police said he sustained a stab injury to the chest during the incident.
According to the preliminary investigation, the confrontation was linked to a dispute involving a female student. Bhuvan, a first-year BCom student at the same college, was reportedly interested in the student, but she had rejected his advances. Police suspect that Yogesh had spoken negatively about the girl, angering Bhuvan.
Investigators say Bhuvan called Yogesh to the area at about 2pm, where Bhuvan and associates allegedly confronted him. The argument reportedly escalated into a physical clash. Yogesh was found seriously injured and was taken by local residents to a nearby private hospital, but he died on the way, police said.
A case has been registered at Annapurneshwari Nagar Police Station. Four people have been arrested as the investigation continues, while efforts are under way to locate Bhuvan, whom police have identified as the alleged prime accused. Three of the arrested people have been remanded to a state home for boys.
The fourth, an adult, has been taken into custody for further questioning. The account of the incident is based on the preliminary police investigation, and the allegations remain subject to further proceedings.
