Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh set youth exchange visits under Yuva Sangam
A 51-member Madhya Pradesh delegation will visit Karnataka from September 28 to October 3 under Yuva Sangam Phase VII, followed by a 53-member Karnataka delegation to Madhya Pradesh. The exchange will focus on culture, traditions, education, development, tourism and technology.
A 51-member delegation from Madhya Pradesh will visit Karnataka from September 28 to October 3 under the seventh phase of the Yuva Sangam programme, officials said on Saturday. A reciprocal 53-member delegation from Karnataka will travel to Madhya Pradesh from October 10 to 17. The exchanges will give young people opportunities to experience each state’s culture, traditions, educational institutions and development initiatives.
Central University of Karnataka Vice-Chancellor Battu Satyanarayana said the university had been selected as the nodal agency for implementing the Karnataka-Madhya Pradesh exchange. He was speaking at a media conference in Kalaburagi with university Registrar R.R. Biradar.
Yuva Sangam is organised by the Ministry of Education under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat programme. According to the vice-chancellor, it is intended to promote interaction among young people from different parts of India and provide first-hand exposure to the country’s social, cultural, educational and developmental diversity. The Madhya Pradesh delegation will visit Tellur, a jaggery unit in Humnabad and Bidar Fort, and interact with Bidri craftsmen.
Its itinerary also includes the Indian Institute of Management-Bengaluru, the Indian Space Research Organisation, the Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum and Lok Bhavan. The Karnataka delegation will visit Bhopal and explore Madhya Pradesh’s heritage, traditions, tourism, educational institutions and development achievements while interacting with local youth. Satyanarayana said 5,926 applications had been received from Karnataka.
Fifty student and youth delegates were selected on merit and in line with Ministry of Education guidelines, joined by three faculty coordinators. The delegation includes 26 women and 24 men. Biradar said the programme was structured around tourism, traditions, development, people-to-people connection and technology.
Participants are expected to engage with communities and learn about innovation, education, governance and development as part of the exchange.
