Minister tells new Andhra police constables to build technical skills

A total of 142 police constable trainees from Andhra Pradesh’s Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts completed nine months of training and passed out from the District Training Centre in Chittoor on Saturday. Transport Minister and district in-charge Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy, the chief guest at the passing-out parade, urged the trainees to uphold discipline and honesty in their service. Reddy said it was encouraging to see highly educated young people joining the police force.

He said the state government was prioritising the filling of vacant posts in the department. The minister said the government had issued a notification for 5,000 constable positions and completed the recruitment process. He also said the stipend for trainees had been increased from ₹4,500 to ₹12,000.

Reddy told the new constables to remain technically aware as artificial intelligence develops and cybercrime increases. The trainees belonged to the SCT PC-2025 batch and completed their instruction at the Chittoor centre. District Collector Sumit Kumar said constables were often the first and most visible representatives of government for residents.

He urged them to provide lawful, impartial and responsible service, particularly when dealing with vulnerable people and victims. Superintendent of Police Tushar Dudi asked the trainees to carry the discipline and efficiency displayed during the parade into their work. He also urged them to act with integrity and bring credit to their families, the training centre and the state police.
