NTT DATA adopts SAP cloud and AI tools for global HR transformation

NTT DATA has adopted SAP SuccessFactors solutions, SAP Business Data Cloud and SAP’s Joule AI orchestrator as part of a global transformation of its people and culture systems. SAP said the programme would replace multiple legacy human-resources systems with a unified platform for people data and processes. The stated aims include improving decision-making, employee experience and workforce planning.

The company is expected to deploy the SAP SuccessFactors solutions over 12 months. The platform will serve as the system of record for people and talent data across NTT DATA’s operations. SAP Business Data Cloud will connect human-resources information with insights from other business functions, according to a release provided to The PUNCH.

NTT DATA said the arrangement would create a single source for HR data and processes. NTT DATA chief people officer Stijn Nauwelaerts said the project reflected the company’s view that talent was a strategic differentiator and that artificial intelligence should be integrated into enterprise organisations. The company plans to use its own SAP expertise to design and implement the platform.

SAP said this would give NTT DATA direct experience that could support its work advising clients on AI-driven HR transformation. SAP executive Thomas Saueressig said a unified cloud-based HR platform could improve productivity and support a connected workforce. NTT DATA previously adopted SAP Cloud ERP Private solutions in 2025 to modernise core systems.
