Ogun APC candidate predicts victory at 2027 interfaith gathering

Ogun’s APC governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Adeola, expressed confidence that the party would win the 2027 election during an interfaith prayer session. Governor Dapo Abiodun said the gathering was intended to seek divine guidance for the political transition, while religious leaders urged participants to pursue good leadership and reject wrongdoing.
The All Progressives Congress in Ogun State has held an interfaith prayer session ahead of the 2027 general elections, with its governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Adeola, predicting victory for the party. Adeola told the gathering on Wednesday that he believed God would grant the APC victory and clear the way for him to become Ogun’s seventh executive governor. He also expressed confidence that the party would win without a major contest.
The candidate said opponents were struggling to organise themselves and claimed that no one would contest against the APC by February 6, 2027. His comments were made at the religious event and were presented as an expression of confidence rather than as an electoral result. Governor Dapo Abiodun said the gathering was intended to place God first and commit the party’s political journey towards 2027 to divine guidance.
He recalled the difficulties surrounding the 2019 governorship election and described his emergence as governor as a testimony of divine intervention. Abiodun said he believed the prayers, songs and thanksgiving at the event would produce positive results. He added that he trusted the same support that had helped him through the 2018 political challenges to guide the state through another transition.
The governor’s wife, Bamidele Abiodun, took part in the proceedings by reading passages from the Bible. Pastor J.T. Kalejaye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God called for good leadership and urged the congregation to reject evil.
APC deputy governorship candidate Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun also participated by reading verses from the Quran.
