Oyebanji says Ekiti administration fulfilled 2022 campaign pledges

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has said his administration fulfilled the promises it made during the 2022 election campaign and recorded strong budget performance during its four-year tenure. He made the statement on Thursday at Aramoko Ekiti during a town hall meeting with stakeholders from Ekiti Central Senatorial District. The meeting formed part of consultations ahead of preparation of the state’s 2027 budget.

According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Olayinka Oyebode, Oyebanji said residents’ requests had been incorporated into annual budget preparations through earlier town hall meetings. The governor said the administration had executed projects across the council areas and had not betrayed the people’s trust. He also promised that requests raised at the latest consultation would be addressed either directly by the state or through partnerships.

Oyebanji said collaboration with the World Bank under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project would support the delivery of 1,500 kilometres of roads across Ekiti. He said 235 kilometres were expected to be covered in the third phase of the project after the rainy season. He identified flooding and gully erosion in Efon, Aramoko and Ado Ekiti as continuing concerns.

The government, he said, had studied the affected areas and was developing a strategy to address them. On healthcare, Oyebanji said 110 primary health centres had been renovated and promised further improvements. He also credited traditional rulers and residents’ vigilance with helping reduce security threats in the state.
