Police in Tirupati arrested three people and recovered 24 motorcycles valued at ₹25 lakh in raids linked to vehicle thefts across Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Officers said nine motorcycles had already been connected to cases at different police stations, while work continued to identify the cases associated with the remaining vehicles.

Tirupati police arrested three people and recovered 24 motorcycles allegedly stolen across three States, The Hindu reported. The recovered vehicles were valued at ₹25 lakh, according to the police. The arrests were made on Sunday after a series of raids by Tirupati West police.

The operation was conducted under the direction of Sub-Divisional Police Officer M. Bhaktavatsalam and followed instructions from Superintendent of Police L. Subbarayudu.

Those arrested were identified as Areddula Vinod Kumar, 32, Cherlopalli Govindarajulu, 34, and Govindaswamy Murali, 30. Police described all three as regular offenders. At a media conference, Additional Superintendents of Police K.

Ravi Manoharachary and A. Srinivasulu said the motorcycles had been stolen in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Nine of the 24 recovered vehicles had been matched to cases registered at different police stations, the officers said.

Police were gathering and collating information to identify the cases connected with the remaining 15 motorcycles. The source reported that the three men had substantial criminal records. It said the records included 21 cases against Vinod Kumar, 14 against Govindarajulu and 17 against Murali.
