About 35,000 people participated in the third edition of the Pink Power Run in Hyderabad on Sunday, an event aimed at promoting breast cancer awareness and preventive healthcare. The run was held at the HMDA Grounds near Prasads, by Hussain Sagar, and was organised jointly by Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited and the Sudha Reddy Foundation. Organisers said the event focused on awareness, early detection and women’s empowerment.
Participants competed in 21-kilometre, 10-kilometre, 5-kilometre and 3-kilometre races, drawing people from different age groups and backgrounds. Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka and Telangana Director General of Police C.V. Anand were present for the flag-off.
The 21-kilometre race included runners from more than a dozen countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia, Uganda, Sri Lanka, Iceland, Tanzania, Botswana, Kenya and Canada. Suneel Kumar won the men’s half-marathon title and Sonam won the women’s race. Harish Shareen and Vandana Patel won the men’s and women’s 10-kilometre events.
Luv Choudhary and Anjali won the men’s and women’s 5-kilometre races. The organisers awarded ₹75 lakh in cash prizes across the categories, along with medals and trophies. U.S.
Consul General Laura Williams took part in the 10-kilometre race, while Sudha Reddy, P.V. Krishna Reddy and Miss World 2025 Opal Suchata participated in the shorter events.
