Andhra Pradesh education official calls for sharper focus on student learning

Andhra Pradesh School Education Principal Secretary J. Shyamala Rao has urged teachers to give individual attention to students and focus on improving learning outcomes during a visit to government schools in Krishna district. Rao visited schools in Edupugallu village of Kankipadu mandal on Saturday, accompanied by Director of School Education A.

At the primary school, Rao examined the FLN Jaduyi Pitara kit and observed pupils using its learning materials. He conducted activities in Telugu, English and Mathematics, asking students to identify, read and write letters and encouraging them to participate. He also inspected food served under the Dokka Seethamma Mid Day Meal Scheme, tasted the meal and millet chikki, and appreciated their quality.

He reviewed students’ bags and assessment books supplied through the Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Vidyarthi Mitra Kit and enquired about teachers’ performance. Rao praised Class III student Harika after seeing her drawings and encouraged her to pursue her interests. He also used stories from Values Education books to engage pupils.

At the high school, the officials inspected the PAL Lab, Clicker Classes and sports lab and spoke with students about their competencies and skills. During an interaction with Class X students preparing for Mission March, Rao advised them to plan their studies systematically and avoid examination-related stress. He later taught Mathematics at the classroom board through a question-and-answer session.

At a School Complex Meeting, he discussed timely syllabus completion, simple teaching methods and stronger language skills, saying teachers had a role in guiding students and helping shape them into responsible citizens.
