Andhra Pradesh and Telangana shared the Under-14 boys’ championship at the National Handball Tournament 2026 in Hyderabad, while Karnataka won the girls’ title. The three-day CISCE event brought together 24 boys’ and girls’ teams from across India and concluded on Sunday.

Andhra Pradesh and Telangana emerged as joint winners in the Under-14 boys’ category at the National Handball Tournament 2026 in Hyderabad on Sunday. Karnataka won the Under-14 girls’ championship at the three-day event, which was held at Gitanjali Vedika from October 2 to 4. The tournament was organised under the CISCE U-14 competition and featured 24 boys’ and girls’ teams from across the country.

In the boys’ competition, Karnataka finished as runners-up, while Maharashtra took third place. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were listed as the winners of the category. Karnataka secured the girls’ title.

Andhra Pradesh and Telangana finished second, and Maharashtra placed third. The finals and closing ceremony were attended by Md. Tajuddin Ahmed, a retired additional commissioner of police and senior national handball player.

His presence marked the conclusion of the championship in Hyderabad. The tournament brought together school teams competing in the Under-14 age group, with the final standings determined at the close of the three-day programme. The result gave Karnataka the girls’ championship and a runners-up finish in the boys’ event, while Andhra Pradesh and Telangana topped the boys’ category and also finished second in the girls’ competition.

Maharashtra completed the podium places in both sections.
