BUA Group chairman Abdul Samad Rabiu visited President Bola Tinubu with his son, Isyaku Abdulsamad Khalifa, to mark Nigeria’s Independence Day. Rabiu said the meeting offered an opportunity to reflect on the country’s journey and look ahead with hope, while he wished Nigerians peace, unity, progress and prosperity.

BUA Group chairman Abdul Samad Rabiu visited President Bola Tinubu with his son, Isyaku Abdulsamad Khalifa, to mark Nigeria’s Independence Day, according to a statement shared by the businessman on X. Rabiu said he was honoured to meet the President again and extend his wishes on the occasion. He shared photographs of the meeting showing himself, Tinubu and Khalifa together.

The businessman said the visit provided an opportunity to reflect on Nigeria’s journey and consider the country’s future. “It is always a pleasure to share such moments as we reflect on our nation’s journey and look forward with hope to the future,” he wrote. Rabiu also congratulated Nigerians living in the country and abroad.

He wished them a happy Independence Day and said he hoped Nigeria would continue to enjoy peace, unity, progress and prosperity. Nigeria became independent from British colonial rule on October 1, 1960. October 1 is observed annually as a national public holiday commemorating independence.

The visit came as Nigeria marked its 66th Independence anniversary in 2026. The supplied report did not give details of any policy discussions between Rabiu and Tinubu or indicate whether other government officials attended the meeting.
