The Aliko Dangote Foundation says eligible Nigerian students aged 18 and above can receive 10 additional Dangote Refinery shares at no cost after subscribing for at least 10 shares. The initiative is intended to combine financial education with practical experience of the capital market.

The Aliko Dangote Foundation has launched a programme offering eligible Nigerian tertiary students 10 additional shares in Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE after they subscribe for at least 10 shares. The Student Share Grant Initiative is open to students aged 18 and above at recognised public and private tertiary institutions across Nigeria. The foundation said the scheme was designed to promote financial literacy, responsible investing and long-term ownership.

Students must complete a verification process through the designated Foundation platform before being directed to the subscription channel. They must apply for a minimum of 10 shares in their own names and for their own benefit. According to the foundation, participants who meet the requirements will have an application for an additional 10 shares funded by the organisation at no extra cost.

The grant applies only to the specified Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals offering. Aliko Dangote, chairman of the foundation, said supporting young people should include giving them knowledge and opportunities to participate in economic growth. He said the initiative was intended to help students understand saving, responsible investment and long-term ownership.

The foundation’s chief executive, Zouera Youssoufou, said the programme would allow students to experience stages of the investment process, including verification, subscription, allotment and ownership. She said practical exposure could encourage continued interest in financial literacy and asset ownership. The foundation stressed that participation was voluntary and should not be interpreted as investment advice or a recommendation to buy the shares.

It urged prospective participants to review the IPO documentation before deciding whether to invest. The scheme cannot be used to buy shares for another person, another Dangote company or any other company.
