DoorDash opens Hyderabad hub with plans to expand Indian workforce
DoorDash has opened its first India office in Hyderabad, beginning operations with plans to hire 500 people and eventually expand the workforce to 3,000. DoorDash opened its first India office in Hyderabad on Wednesday, September 30, establishing a technology and operations hub that the company initially plans to staff with 500 employees. The company said the facility, known as a Talent Hub, will support its global operations. It is intended to provide customer experience and integrity services for consumers, merchants and delivery workers, known as “Dashers”, across DoorDash’s markets.
The office was inaugurated by Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu. DoorDash’s representatives at the event included Chief Financial Officer Ravi Inukonda and Jenna Kohnke, senior director for workforce strategy and talent acquisition operations.
DoorDash said the Hyderabad centre will be its third internal Customer Experience and Integrity service centre worldwide, following facilities in Tempe, Arizona, and Mexico City. Operations in Hyderabad are scheduled to begin in October. The company plans to increase staffing at the facility over time to 3,000.
The Minister’s office said that figure could be reached within two years. DoorDash also plans to move to a larger facility by April 2027 as its team expands. Kohnke said the establishment of the India hub was an important step in expanding DoorDash’s global operations network.
Sridhar Babu said the company’s decision demonstrated Hyderabad’s development as a global centre for talent and digital business operations. DoorDash said it operates in more than 40 countries and had more than $100 billion in Marketplace Gross Order Value in 2025. The company described itself as one of the world’s three largest local commerce platforms and said it held more than 65% of the US market.
The Hyderabad office will draw on the city’s technology ecosystem and talent pool, according to DoorDash. The company said it would create long-term career opportunities as the hub grows.
