Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has appointed six zonal coordinators to lead his 2027 presidential campaign organisation, according to a statement issued by his campaign team. Makinde is the presidential candidate of the Allied People’s Movement. The appointments were announced in Abuja by Richard Ihediwa, director of strategic communications for the Makinde-Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation.
Eddy Olafeso was named coordinator for the South-west, while Habu Muazu will oversee the North-east and Senator Ibrahim Tsauri the North-west. Bode Ojomu was appointed for the North-central, Akadiaha Ebitu for the South-south and Obi Okechukwu for the South-east. The campaign organisation said the coordinators were selected for their political experience and connections.
They are expected to work with the National Campaign Management Committee and the party’s national leadership. Their stated task is to mobilise citizens for what the organisation described as an issue-based and people-oriented campaign ahead of the 16 January 2027 poll. The campaign said the appointments were intended to help drive Makinde’s “Reset Nigeria” agenda nationwide.
In the statement, Makinde expressed gratitude for what he described as growing public solidarity. He also said more appointments would be announced soon, without giving details of the additional positions. The candidate urged supporters to remain focused and steadfast as the campaign develops.
The organisation said the broader objective was to bring what it called a new lease of life to Nigeria.
