Missing Telangana woman found dead six days after leaving for work

A 48-year-old woman who went missing from Shadnagar on September 22 was found dead near the Mekaguda crossroads in Nandigama mandal on Sunday. The deceased, Kummari Mangamma, worked as housekeeping staff at a Lenskart outlet in Shadnagar. She left her home in Venkataramana Colony at about 10 a.m.
on September 22 for work and normally returned around 1 p.m. When she failed to come home, her family searched for her and tried to contact her by phone. Her mobile was switched off.
Her husband, Kummari Tirupati, filed a complaint with Shadnagar police on September 23, leading to the registration of a missing-person case. Police issued a lookout notice and began searching for Mangamma. Her body was eventually found in a deserted area near the Mekaguda crossroads, about 12 kilometres from her home and under the jurisdiction of Nandigama police.
The Nandigama circle inspector and other officers reached the location and began investigating. Police are examining her movements after she left home, where she was last seen and whether she was accompanied by anyone. Family members told police that Mangamma was wearing about four tolas of gold jewellery when she disappeared.
