Offa leaders endorse Ogunniyi for Kwara APC deputy-governor ticket

The event was chaired by former President Olusegun Obasanjo and attended by community leaders and professionals from Offa. Those listed as supporting Ogunniyi included industrialist AWA Ibraheem, the Asiwaju of Offa, Tajudeen Owoyemi, lawyer Rafiu Lawal-Rabana, and community leader Bola Oyebode. Other supporters named were former Bank of Industry managing director Waheed Olagunju, Layi Bello, Remi Oni, Shittu and retired federal permanent secretary Azeez Bukoye.
The supporters said their backing was intended to promote cohesive representation and sustainable development for Kwara South and the state. Kwara South includes Offa, Oyun, Ifelodun, Isin, Ekiti, Oke Ero and Irepodun local government areas. Ogunniyi thanked the leaders for what he called a collective vote of confidence.
He said their support strengthened his commitment to service under the APC and to stakeholder engagement. The endorsement comes ahead of the 2027 elections, when party ticket balancing and zonal representation are expected to remain important issues in Kwara politics.
