Peter Fatomilola says Mr Macaroni gave him ₦1m after film role

Veteran Yoruba actor Peter Fatomilola says actor and skit maker Debo Adedayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, gave him ₦1m after they worked together on a film in Lagos. Fatomilola made the disclosure in an upcoming interview with African A-List, also known as AfricanaList, while discussing his experiences in the entertainment industry. He said no fee had been negotiated before he accepted the role.

The actor recalled an earlier production at a location in Fiditi, Oyo State. He said he completed two scenes and was paid ₦50,000 by the person who hired him. According to Fatomilola, Mr Macaroni later escorted him to his car and gave him at least ₦200,000 for fuel as he prepared to leave the location.

He said the gesture made a strong impression on him. Fatomilola said Mr Macaroni subsequently invited him to work on another project in Lekki, Lagos. He travelled there and waited to be called on set, without initially knowing the role he would play.

He said he eventually discovered that he would act alongside another veteran, Pete Edochie. Fatomilola described the pairing as “Peter to Peter” and said Mr Macaroni told him after the filming that he had been satisfied with his performance. The actor said Mr Macaroni then gave ₦100,000 to his son and ₦50,000 to his grandchild.

Those payments led him to believe that he might also receive money for his work. Fatomilola said he only learned the amount sent to him after leaving the Lekki location. When he asked how much had been transferred, he was told it was ₦1m.
