Russia prepared for Tuesday’s international friendly against Nigeria with a 6-0 victory over Namibia in Yekaterinburg on Saturday. The hosts led 1-0 at half-time before producing a dominant second-half performance. Lechi Sadulaev opened the scoring in the 37th minute, giving Russia a narrow advantage at the interval.
Danil Prutsev doubled the lead nine minutes after the restart. Konstantin Tyukavin then made it 3-0 in the 65th minute as Russia continued to control the match. Maksim Glushenkov added a fourth with six minutes of normal time remaining.
Maksim Petrov converted a penalty three minutes later to put Russia five goals ahead. Namibia’s difficult evening ended with another goal in stoppage time, when Kamaijanda Ndisiro turned the ball into his own net to complete the rout. Russia will now focus on the meeting with Nigeria at Nizhny Novgorod Stadium on Tuesday.
The result gives the Russian side a substantial winning margin in its final preparation match before the encounter. Nigeria and Russia last met in June 2025, when the teams drew 1-1. Tolu Arokodare scored for Nigeria after Semi Ajayi’s own goal had put Russia ahead.
