Visakhapatnam cricket association opens four new practice nets

The Visakhapatnam District Cricket Association has installed and inaugurated four practice nets at the ACA–VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam. The facilities are located in the stadium’s VIP car parking area and consist of three turf wickets and one Astro-turf wicket. They are fitted with a telescopic net structure.
The nets were inaugurated by P. Vishnu Kumar Raju, Visakhapatnam North MLA and working president of the VDCA, and K. Parthasarathy, the association’s secretary.
VDCA vice-president D.S. Varma and other office-bearers and members attended the inauguration ceremony. Their presence marked the formal opening of the new training facilities.
Mr. Vishnu Kumar Raju said the nets would give players valuable opportunities to practise and develop their cricketing skills. He also took part in batting during the programme.
The association provided no further details about the schedule for use of the nets or the players who will train there. The facilities nevertheless add dedicated turf and Astro-turf practice areas within the stadium complex. The inauguration is the latest development reported by the VDCA in its efforts to provide cricketing facilities in Visakhapatnam.
The association’s officials and members were present at the event.
