Adeoye opened the scoring in the sixth minute, curling his free-kick into the right corner to give the hosts an early lead. It was his first league goal in four appearances this season.
Ikechukwu Junior doubled Ikorodu City’s advantage in the 63rd minute. The result gave the club its second league victory of the season after five matches. Adeoye joined Ikorodu City in January 2026 and scored once in nine appearances during the second half of last season.
His latest performance came after he was invited to Nigeria’s squad for a friendly against Russia in Novgorod on October 6. The 19-year-old was also called up for the Unity Cup in May. If he plays against Russia, the match would mark his senior international debut.
Nigeria’s squad for the friendly is set to be led by captain Wilfred Ndidi. Moses Simon, Stanley Nwabali, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Benjamin Fredricks, Raphael Onyedika and Akor Adams are among the other invited players. The list also includes several potential debutants from clubs in Europe and the Middle East, including goalkeeper Samuel James, defender Victory Akpe and midfielders Chibuzo Nwoko and Stephen Michael.
Adeoye and the other players are expected to travel after Nigeria’s second AFCON qualifying match against Guinea-Bissau.
