Cyberabad civic body, T-Works agree to develop urban technology solutions

The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation has signed a memorandum of understanding with T-Works to develop technology-driven responses to urban and municipal challenges. The agreement will create a framework for cooperation in innovation, prototyping and the development of practical solutions for civic requirements. The partnership is intended to connect problems identified by the municipal corporation with design and testing expertise.

Discussions covered possible solutions for innovative street furniture, public urinals, pothole repairs, road maintenance, mosquito and vector control, sanitation and other field-level needs. The corporation’s commissioner also reviewed work relating to water hyacinth management, firefighting in high-rise buildings, recyclable materials and liquid-waste treatment. The parties discussed how those solutions might be adapted for use in Cyberabad.

Under the proposed process, the municipal corporation will identify a challenge before a prototype is developed and tested in real field conditions. Solutions that demonstrate effective results could then be scaled up. The agreement therefore focuses on moving beyond concept development to practical trials in municipal settings.
