Telangana technology centres report more than 4,000 job placements

More than 4,000 students trained at Telangana’s Advanced Technology Centres have secured employment, according to figures cited in a report on the State’s industry-oriented skills programme. The latest reported achievement involved 117 students from the centre at Utnoor in Adilabad district, who obtained placements in multinational companies. The result was described as particularly significant for students from remote areas.

The Telangana government has established 65 ATCs in collaboration with Tata Technologies. The centres upgrade existing Industrial Training Institutes and offer courses in CNC machining, robotics, automation and electric vehicle technology. More than 11,000 students have undergone training at the centres.

Nearly 4,000 students have taken part in campus placement drives, with about 61 per cent securing jobs, according to the figures provided. Recent recruitment activity included a job fair at Kodad on September 19, where 725 students were placed. Nearly 700 others were placed through Tata Technologies drives in Warangal and Hyderabad during the same week.

Job fairs at Shantinagar and Kodangal produced a further 350 and 80 placements respectively. Companies named as recruiters include Apple, ITC, Larsen & Toubro, Bharat Dynamics, Eicher, Apollo, Tata Motors and Schneider Electric. Officials said the centres were designed to address the gap between formal qualifications and industry requirements as automation and artificial intelligence reshape jobs.

The government plans to build another 54 centres. Once completed, the State is expected to have nearly 119 ATCs covering all Assembly constituencies, with total investment estimated at about ₹4,000 crore. Officials are also examining overseas opportunities in Japan, South Korea and Germany.
