YSRCP leader urges voters to challenge TDP over promises

Former Andhra Pradesh minister and YSRCP leader Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy has urged the public to compare the party’s previous administration with the current NDA alliance government ahead of local body elections. Speaking at a coordination meeting with constituency-in-charge leaders from the undivided Chittoor district in Tirupati on Sunday, Ramachandra Reddy claimed that the earlier YSRCP regime had offered welfare-oriented governance. He accused the TDP-led government of relying on what he called “tall talk and no action” and urged voters to question it about promises made before the elections.

Ramachandra Reddy also referred to the “Chalo Vijayawada” call issued by ward and village secretariat employees. He said the YSRCP would extend its full support to the employees taking part in the protest. He accused the ruling party of using police force against opposition workers and intimidating the agitating employees.

According to him, such actions would not discourage YSRCP workers. Former Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams chairman and Chittoor district YSRCP president Bhumana Karunakar Reddy said the party would contest the local body elections vigorously. Bhumana alleged that the ruling party was attempting to capture the elections by encouraging uncontested victories.

Leaders from Chandragiri, Srikalahasti, Satyavedu and Chittoor constituencies attended the meeting. The claims about the government and the conduct of the elections were made by YSRCP leaders at the party meeting. The source material contains no response from the TDP-led administration.
